I took a little drive to pick up my buddy, then off to Tumwater. Down in Tumwater is the old Olympia Brewery. The adjacent Brewery Park allows for some views of the river. Get to the bottom of the falls, and there are a bunch of Salmon. The only thought that raced through our separate heads was sushi. We had ulterior motives; a BBQ restaurant was the actual draw, located near where the park and old brewery were a bonus.
First, drive around the area to see the campus; the size and the damage of a fire and time have taken their toll on many structures. And wow, it is beautiful seeing how the power of time and nature can impose their wills.
Looking around, I realized that this had changed from a "one-time" place to a spot I needed to return to. There is much to explore and so much to see. The river, the buildings, the decay, the destruction, and the strength.
